Conectar el estadio José Zorrilla con el barrio de Los Santos-Pilarica es el objetivo del corredor verde de Valladolid, una acción de renaturalización del proyecto europeo URBAN GreenUP. Este corredor permitirá unir la ciudad de oeste a este, reverdecerla y reforzar la conexión sostenible entre el entorno urbano y periurbano.

Una de las actuaciones generará un sumidero urbano de carbono, con casi 2.000 árboles al lado de La Esgueva. Esta intervención se dará de alta en la Oficina Española de Cambio Climático, lo que blindará este bosque para los próximos 30 años, es decir, no desaparecerá por la especulación inmobiliaria y así se convertirá en un nuevo pulmón verde en la ciudad.

Este corredor verde contará con tres nuevas áreas verdes de descanso. Cada una de ellas tendrá dos pérgolas de madera en las que se plantará parra de vino, especie vegetal que durante los meses de verano cubrirá la estructura y en invierno permitirá la entrada de luz. También habrá bancos, nuevos árboles, un aparcamiento de bicicletas, una fuente de agua potable cercana y un módulo de polinizadores, que es el que os quiero mostrar con este waymark.

La idea es atraer a abejas, mariposas y todo tipo de insecto polinizador a las ciudades ya que están desapareciendo del hábitat urbano y tienen una importancia vital en la reproducción de las plantas.

Connecting the José Zorrilla stadium with the Los Santos-Pilarica neighborhood is the objective of the Valladolid green corridor, a renaturation action of the European URBAN GreenUP project. This corridor will link the city from west to east, make it greener and reinforce the sustainable connection between the urban and peri-urban environment.

One of the actions will generate an urban carbon sink, with almost 2,000 trees next to La Esgueva. This intervention will be registered with the Spanish Office for Climate Change, which will shield this forest for the next 30 years, that is, it will not disappear due to real estate speculation and thus it will become a new green lung in the city.

This green corridor will have three new green rest areas. Each of them will have two wooden pergolas on which wine vines will be planted, a plant species that will cover the structure during the summer months and in winter will allow light to enter. There will also be benches, new trees, a bicycle parking lot, a nearby drinking water source and a pollinator module, which is what I want to show you with this waymark.

The idea is to attract bees, butterflies and all kinds of pollinating insects to cities as they are disappearing from the urban habitat and are vitally important in plant reproduction.
