Olive's Garden is named for
Olive Lee Stephens, an amazing lady who was an early mover and shaker in Shady Shores, serving as mayor from 1973 to 2011, retiring from the position at a spry age of 95, and yet, still managing to keep active until her passing in 2017. As of this posting, she has the distinction of having two of the nearly seventy bricks along the path, and her husband, Fred, has one as well.
It looks like you can still donate, as there is a butterfly garden behind the gazebo, and they mention "walking path": As Shady Shores doesn't have much in the way of sidewalks, there are plans to put a place to walk here at the park.
