[ES] “Nuestra webcam desde Madrid nos permite apreciar en vivo el Edificio Metrópolis, uno de los representativos símbolos de la ciudad con un estilo propio Francés, ubicado entre las calles Alcalá y Gran Vía. El propósito de su diseño fue para acoger la compañía de seguros La Unión y El Fénix siendo los arquitectos Franceses Jules y Raymond Février responsables del diseño hasta 1907, luego tomó el cargo el arquitecto español Luis Felipe Fernández Caballero siendo finalmente inaugurada en 1911.

Su cúpula en un principio estuvo decorada por una estatua de bronce del Fénix, símbolo de la empresa en aquel entonces, ya luego de su venta a los dueños actuales, la aseguradora Metrópolis reemplazó la figura por la de Victoria Alada.

Como apreciamos con la cámara web en la Gran Vía se reconoce esta como una de las principales calles y más transitadas en la maravillosa ciudad española.”
