Kite throwing had a deep tradition in India and there are kite festivals all over the country. Ahmedabad hosts one of the most famous and in the last of the six days there is an amazing fireworks.

For six days this festival goes on, with multiple events in Ahmedabad and surrounding towns. The first edition took place in 1989 and since then it attracted kite experts from all over the world, bringing different techniques and kite making styles.
The big day is the last one, when the whole city goes crazy with the population massively throwing kites and the, by dusk time, a fabulous spontaneous firework "explosion" erupts as hundreds of people launch their fireworks.
Any place is good to watch such event, but one of the rooftops of the old town should be ideal.
