Quick Description: Oakland Cemetery is a repository for approximately 6,800 soldiers both known and unknown. It has been the site of Memorial Day services since 1866 and boasts two beautiful monuments to the Confederate dead. It is also the final resting place for five generals.

Regularly Scheduled Events: Fall: Sunday in the Park (Victorian afternoon at the cemetery).

Directions: From I-75 south: take I-20East to Boulevard East. From I-75 north: take exit 248A onto Butler St.; make first right onto Decatur St. Go three lights to Grant St. and turn right; at stop sign turn left. The gate will be in front of you.
