The caliphal city of Medina Azahara will develop from this Saturday a program of workshops on different themes that will last until next December. The initiative, called Medina Azahara in your hands . Family Workshops 2023 , aims for visitors to know and enjoy the history of the Caliphate city as a family in a practical, interactive and fun way.
In this way, the archaeological complex will show facets and themes of its culture through a wide range of workshops for all audiences, in which attendees will be able to learn about the scientific instruments of Al-Andalus, Caliphate ceramics and the production of perfumes. and soaps with aromas that recall the Andalusian world.
They will also be able to participate in an archaeological excavation, discover the coins used in Medina Azahara or witness the creation of a binding inspired by the book of the doctor Dioscórides on medicinal plants, among others.

All the workshops will take place on Saturdays, from April to December 2023, at 11:30 a.m. at the Museo del Conjunto Arqueológico Medina Azahara. The expected capacity is 20 people. Participation in this activity is free and is aimed at children, ages six and up, and adults. Registration will be carried out in strict order of call, through the telephones 600 143 071 and 600 143 069, from Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 14:00.
