Das denkmalgeschützte Gebäude mit der Adresse Erdbergerstraße 17
war 1816 der Wohnort des Komponisten Franz Schubert. Es wird deshalb auch
"Schubertschlössl" oder "Schubertturm" genannt. Eine diesbezügliche Gedenkplatte
mit folgender Inschrift gibt weitere Informationen:

1923 wurde vom
Wiener Schubertbund eine Gedenktafel gestiftet, aber das
Original wurde nach einem Luftangriff im Jahre 1945 entfernt. Ein Großteil des
ehemals großen Gebäudes wurde im 2. Weltkrieg zerstört. 2012 wurde
neuerlich eine Gedenktafel angebracht.
"Ein kleiner, heute noch bestehender Teil des Hoftrakts eines Hauses
aus dem Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts weist ein Mansardendach sowie ein
Dachhäuschen auf. Unterhalb davon wohnte im Jahr 1816 Franz Schubert. Dieser
Trakt wurde 2012 in eine neue Wohnhausanlage integriert. Die heute plakativ
verwendete Bezeichnung 'Schubertturm' ist irreführend, weil Schubert in dem
heute noch sichtbaren Dachhäuschen nicht gewohnt hat."
