Along with the map showing a star indicating, "You Are Here," the signboard give information about the park including, "With more than one mile of shoreline and 550 acres, Erie Bluffs State Park is Pennsylvania's largest stretch of undeveloped land on the Lake Erie shoreline. More than 11,000 years ago, glaciers shaped this land. Today, erosion from wind and water continues to alter the shoreline and bluffs. Soil left behind by the glaciers supports unique habitats throughout the park including a black oak savanna, the rarest of all plant communities in Pennsylvania. Bluffs extending up to 90-feet high provide views of Lake Erie and nesting habitat for one of the largest colonies of bank swallows in Pennsylvania. Water seeping form the bluffs supports rare plants and the forests along the shoreline are important flyways for migrating birds."
