Urban Legend has it that it is. The theater was built in 1913, and guards have said that they've heard voice around the theater and in the dressing rooms. One explanation for the voices, is that during Brazil's dictatorship (1964-1985),political prisoners were taken to the theaters basement and tortured and killed them. Their ghosts are supposed to hunt the theater.
