Kings Landing was established in the late 18th century as a centre of commerce and settlement, particularly in the area of river industry - sawmilling, and gristmilling.

It was established as a United Empire Loyalist settlement in 1790, and thrived well into the Victorian area.

Today Kings landing is one of New Brunswick's premier living history attractions.

The marker, affixed to a granite base, reads:

KINGS LANDING HISTORICAL SETTLEMENT

1790 - 1890

This collection of historic buildings
creates a community representing an
evolution of rural New Brunswick
society from the time of the Loyalists
to the Late Victorians.
