"El Monasterio del Santo Sepulcro de Alcoy (Alicante), Comunidad Valenciana, es la única muestra de arquitectura religiosa antigua que se conserva en Alcoy, ya que todas las otras han desaparecido. Se trata de un templo barroco construido entre 1596 y 1598 por los maestros de obras Baltasar García, Honorato de Onteniente y Baptista Balfago.
La planta del templo es en cruz latina, con nave de tres tramos cubierta por bóveda de cañón sobre arcos fajones con lunetos, donde el crucero se cubre con una cúpula elíptica sobre pechinas, con nervaduras y ventanas entre ellas.
Destaca la gran altura de los arcos de embocadura de las capillas laterales, escasamente comunicadas entre sí. A los pies se sitúa el coro alto, cerrado con celosía, para uso de las monjas Agustinas Descalzas que habitan el convento.
Cuenta con una capilla lateral elíptica donde se contienen las reliquias del milagro del Sagrado Copón, robado y encontrado intacto en 1568 y de una imagen del Niño Jesús de Praga que, según la historia, inclinó sus dedos para señalar el lugar donde el Cáliz había sido escondido. Como curiosidad destacar que en esta capilla también se encuentra una réplica de la Sábana Santa, perteneciente a Juan Luis de Alzamora, secretario de Don Juan de Austria y que lo donó al convento.
Tiene también en una de sus hornacinas una imagen de San José que cuenta con una reproducción a pequeña escala de un banco de carpintero y una "cabellera" de virutas de madera. El exterior del templo es austero y sencillo, donde únicamente destaca la portada de piedra en la fachada de los pies, a la que se accede por escalinata elíptica.

"The Monastery of the Holy Sepulcher of Alcoy (Alicante), Valencian Community, is the only example of ancient religious architecture that remains in Alcoy, since all the others have disappeared. The floor plan of the temple is in the form of a Latin cross, with a nave with three sections covered by a barrel vault on transverse arches with lunettes, where the transept is covered with an elliptical dome on pendentives, with ribs and windows between them.
The great height of the arches at the mouth of the side chapels stands out, barely connected to each other. At the foot is the high choir, closed with latticework, for the use of the Discalced Augustinian nuns who inhabit the convent.
It has an elliptical side chapel where the relics of the miracle of the Sacred Ciborium are found, stolen and found intact in 1568, and an image of the Infant Jesus of Prague who, according to history, inclined his fingers to point to the place where the Chalice had been hidden. As a curiosity to note that in this chapel there is also a replica of the Shroud, belonging to Juan Luis de Alzamora, secretary of Don Juan de Austria and who donated it to the convent.
It also has in one of its niches an image of San José that has a small-scale reproduction of a carpenter's bench and a "hair" of wood shavings. The exterior of the temple is austere and simple, where the only thing that stands out is the stone doorway on the foot façade, which is accessed by an elliptical staircase.
The lateral façade of the Monastery of the Holy Sepulcher in the regionalist baroque style is the work of the architect Vicente Valls Gadea from Alcoy, carried out in 1925".
