This sign gives a brief overview of the animals and plants that can be found in the Red Canyon Wildlife Habitat Management Area, which is a 1,785-acre state-owned parcel of land that primarily hosts elk winter range. The sign is near a large pull-off on the northwest side of the highway, and provides a great view of the deep-red Chugwater Formation that gives Red Canyon its name.
