"Este convento situado en el Cerro de San Cristóbal fue fundado por el segundo marqués de Estepa, D. Juan Bautista Centurión, tan solo cuatro años después del Convento de Santa Clara.

El convento que se puede ver en el Cerro hoy día no es el original, ya que el que existía antiguamente fue destruido en 1835 cuando los franciscanos lo abandonaron como consecuencia de la conocida Ley de Exclaustración y Desamortización de Mendizábal.
Más tarde, a mediados del siglo XIX, se iniciaron las obras del que es el actual convento, finalizando las mismas en 1904.

Ambos edificios, convento e iglesia, se emplazan donde estuviera antiguamente la ermita de San Cristóbal, que se donó a cambio de que San Cristóbal y la Virgen de Gracia estuvieran en el altar mayor.
En el exterior de la iglesia podemos contemplar su portada protobarroca, así como el frontón partido sobre ésta, rematado con un azulejo de la Escuela Sevillana con el motivo de San Francisco".

Both buildings, convent and church, are located where the hermitage of San Cristóbal was formerly located, which was donated in exchange for San Cristóbal and the Virgin of Grace being on the main altar.
On the outside of the church we can see its proto-baroque façade, as well as the pediment split above it, topped with a tile from the Sevillian School with the motif of San Francisco."
