"In Archidona, the devotion to the Nazarene was in a hermitage-hospital located in the place that today is shared by the Hermitage of Jesús Nazareno and the old Escolapios College, the site of the Hospital de la Sangre, which existed since the 16th century.

The chapel was completed in the late 17th and 18th centuries, and was granted to the Piarists some time after they settled in the city. The current building is a Church with a single nave with a barrel vault. The main chapel is covered with a vault supported by pendentives decorated with plasterwork.

The chapel is distributed in various altars and altarpieces, in which images of clothing as well as others of varying size from the 18th centuries are located. The Main Altarpiece responds to 18th century characteristics, white with gilding, columns and cornice, placing it in the second half of the 18th century.
In this altar the beautiful image of the Nazarene, from the 16th century, attributed to the circle of Pablo de Rojas, of extraordinary quality, is venerated.
The difficult and unstable posture is typical of 19th century mannerism. XVI beginning of the XVII. This image is one of the most devoted in the city and its Patron, along with the anonymous Virgin of Love and Blood from the 17th century, has its penitence station on Holy Thursday.

The altar of the Expiration houses the image of Christ Crucified, from the 17th century, who processions with an image of the Magdalene."
