As most of the wash houses in Portugal, this one is not in use anymore. Not that it couldn't be. There is water, the facility is open to the public. But people just don't use them. Pretty much everybody has a washing machine at home.
The wash house was originally built in 1976 by the local community. It's located about 100 m from a beautiful draw well. In 2022 the wash house was renovated by the Town for historical purposes. There are seven washing stations.
