This pillar can be found conveniently by the roadside half a mile north-west of Kinghorn, a small town on the Firth of Forth in Fife, just south of the larger town of Kirkcaldy. The pillar lies at the summit of the minor Redpath Brae at 103 metres, near the farm of Craigencalt, on the right-hand (north-east) side of the road beyond a barbed-wire fence. Fortunately the flushbracket faces the road and is readable from there. The pillar is in good condition, with views best to the north over Kirkcaldy and the Firth of Forth.
STEEPNESS: Gentle rise.
TERRAIN: Tarmac road.
ACCESSIBILITY: By the roadside beyond a barbed-wire fence.
NAVIGATION: The B923 road heading along the north side of Kinghorn passes Redpath Brae which leads directly to the pillar after a couple of double-bends snaking uphill. The pillar lies to the right on the road summit.
DANGER: None apart from traffic and the barbed-wire fence which does not require climbing to view the flushbracket.
