The restaurant opened in 1952, and Sam has been here since 1962. He waits outside, holding a hamburger.
In 1990 Sam was hit by a Ford Bronco and it took some years for him to recover. In 2002, he again stood tall to show how tasty (or large) a hamburger can be.
