The Britons Protection pub is a Grade II listed building located on Great Bridgewater Street in Manchester.

The Grade II listed description given by British Listed Buildings can be seen at the following link: (visit link)

The Britons Protection is a traditional Manchester Ale House that dates back to 1806. It was initially used for recruitment during the Napoleonic wars (hence the name).

A plaque mounted on the front of the building gives the following information;
THE
BRITONS
PROTECTION

The Britons Protection
has stood proudly
on the corner of
Great Bridgewater Street
and Lower Mosley Street
since 1806.

Famed for its enormous
whisky collection -
there's over 300 to
choose from.

A large mural of the
Peterloo Massacre stands
proudly on the walls.
The only place to
commemorate the 1819
protest for parliamentary
reform which took place
just outside the Britons
front door, in which 15
demonstrators were
killed and 700 more
injured by sabre wielding
cavalry who charged the
80,000 strong crowd.

The pub is divided into three separate areas, a narrow front half that is has an ornate ceiling and a mahogany bar, and two lounges at the rear that have plush cushioned furnishings, carpeted floors and a brass fire hearth.

There is also an upstairs function room/boardroom suitable for holding team meetings or private functions.

To the rear of the pub there is a sunny beer garden.
