Elevation Station 417 - Mohawk, AZ - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

This bronze-colored metal disk is embedded in a concrete collar. Although undated, it may have been placed when Hwy. 80 was established. It sits just to the north of the old right of way which now is a frontage road for Interstate 8. Around the outside edge of the disk is stamped, Arizona Highway Dept. 19. Within that is Elev 417.81, STA, 1892 +50. There is a cross in the center of the disk. The disk is located approximately six feet north of the northern edge of County Second St. North and .98 miles east of the end of the paved exit from I-8 for Mohawk pass at an angle of 82.92 degrees.
