A memorial honoring three storm chasers who lost their lives in the 2013 El Reno tornado is south of I-40 near El Reno.

Wednesday marks ten years since the May 31st tornado that hit parts of El Reno and left several people dead, including storm chasers.

Carl Young, Timothy Samaras, and his son Paul were part of the TWISTEX storm chasing team.

They were all killed after the tornado took an unexpected turn and struck their vehicle.

A memorial was set up to honor their lives.

The 2013 El Reno tornado was the widest ever on record, with a width of 2.6 miles at its peak.
