"La iglesia de Sant Jaume es una iglesia parroquial en el extremo suroeste del casco urbano de Sant Pol de Mar (Maresme) incluida en el Inventario del Patrimonio Arquitectónico de Cataluña . La actual iglesia de Santiago fue construida sobre una pequeña capilla que había en el lugar, también bajo la advocación de Santiago. En la zona oeste del conjunto parroquial actual hay una característica torre de defensa de planta circular edificada en el siglo xv por orden de Bertran d'Armendaris , al abrigo de la cual se construyó posteriormente la iglesia en 1590 en estilo gótico tardío . La torre se conserva en toda su altura, y mide 10 m de altura y el muro mide un grosor de 2 m. Tiene puerta dovelada de arco de medio punto , y presenta vestigios de elementos defensivos: aspilleras y troneras . Fue reutilizada posteriormente como campanario, añadiendo un cuerpo cuadrado en la parte superior, con las campanas en la parte superior. En el interior de la iglesia hay un pequeño tesoro artístico formado por una custodia de plata, una talla de la Virgen del Rosario del siglo xvii y un grupo escultórico de La Piedad del escultor barroco sevillano Juan Martínez Montañés (1568-1649)."
