"En el centro del pueblo, en la pequeña plaza de Largo Taragio, se encuentra el oratorio de los Disciplinati de Santa Caterina. De origen XVIII, se trata de un pequeño edificio con fachada a dos aguas muy deteriorada donde destaca una sencilla portada rematada por una hornacina ocupada por una estatua del santo y una ventana circular.
El interior tiene una sola habitación, con un techo con frescos del siglo XVIII que representan el Tormento de Santa Catalina de Alejandría. Se conservan luceros procesionales del siglo XIX, pendones de la misma época, crucifijos de madera del siglo XVI y estatuas de artista desconocido.
En la parte trasera del oratorio hay una terraza panorámica con vistas al mar."

The interior has a single room, with a ceiling with 18th century frescoes depicting the Torment of Saint Catherine of Alexandria. Processional lights from the 19th century, banners from the same period, wooden crucifixes from the 16th century and statues by an unknown artist are preserved.

"El oratorio de los Disciplinanti es un pequeño oratorio del siglo XVIII situado en el centro de Corniglia , en las Cinque Terre en la provincia de La Spezia.
Su nombre deriva de la hermandad religiosa de los Disciplinanti, muy extendida también en otros pueblos de Liguria y en particular en las Cinque Terre. (Los Disciplinanti (o Disciplinati) de Jesús vestían un saco con una abertura en la espalda y se flagelaban con una "disciplina" compuesta por cinco cuerdas (en memoria de las llagas de Cristo) provistas de nudos o bolas de madera.)
El edificio, situado en una posición elevada en la plaza del pueblo, tiene una fachada a dos aguas en la que, encima de la sencilla puerta, se abre una gran ventana circular y una hornacina que alberga la estatua de Santa Catalina de Alejandría , a la que está dedicado el oratorio.
El interior consta de una sola habitación y tiene un techo con frescos del siglo XVIII que representan el martirio de Santa Catalina de Alejandría.
Detrás del lado derecho hay un pequeño campanario.
Hoy el oratorio también se ha convertido en un lugar de celebración de conferencias y exposiciones de arte contemporáneo.

"The Oratory of the Disciplinanti is a small 18th century oratory located in the center of Corniglia, in the Cinque Terre in the province of La Spezia.
Its name derives from the religious brotherhood of the Disciplinanti, also widespread in other towns in Liguria and in particular in the Cinque Terre. (The Disciplinanti (or Disciplinati) of Jesus wore a sack with an opening in the back and flagellated themselves with a "discipline" composed of five ropes (in memory of the wounds of Christ) provided with knots or wooden balls.)
The building, located in an elevated position in the town square, has a gabled façade in which, above the simple door, there is a large circular window and a niche that houses the statue of Saint Catherine of Alexandria, the one to which the oratory is dedicated.
The interior consists of a single room and has a ceiling with 18th century frescoes depicting the martyrdom of Saint Catherine of Alexandria.
Behind the right side is a small bell tower.
Today the oratory has also become a venue for conferences and contemporary art exhibitions.
