A 2015 postage stamp issue from PostNL featured ten modern bridges from across the country. One of these is a small pedestrian bridge that was built in conjunction with a new concert venue located on the IJ next to the cruise ship dock. Its striking design is the work of Dutch architect Hans van Heeswijk.

The bridge has a length of about 200 feet and a total weight of around 220 tons. The only thing visible above the walkway are the handrails as all structural components are underneath. The main support elements resemble the vertebrae of a spinal column connected with steel cables that take on a parabolic shape for torsional stability. The bridge was completed in 2004 as part of a new concert venue complex called Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ for contemporary classical performances and Bimhuis for jazz and improvised music.
