This 'You Are Here' is on a sign detailing a map of Glen Tanar, a valley south-west of the Aberdeenshire town of Aboyne, that begins within the Forest of Glen Tanar, before extending south-westwards into the moorland of the eastern Grampian Mountains, eventually ending at the northern foot of Mount Keen, Scotland's most easterly 3,000 foot mountain.
The sign is at the entrance of a car parking area at the end of the public road, and has three distinct maps. The largest scale showing the surrounding area and walking trails, the main map showing the whole glen, and a smaller scale showing the position of the glen on a map of eastern Scotland.
