El rey conquistador, ataviado con la cimera del dragón alado, la espada y el escudo, alarga su brazo para entregar con solemnidad el privilegio de traslado y fundación de la villa. El imponente pedestal y la planificación del lugar donde ubicar la escultura son obra del arquitecto municipal Godofredo Ros de Ursinos y sufragados por el arcipreste Juan Cardona Vives."
