El término municipal de Calasparra se encuentra enclavado en la comarca murciana del Noroeste, en su zona más baja en lo que altitud se refiere, por lo que hacia él acuden los cursos de agua de la zona montañosa de la comarca en su camino hacia el río Segura, que atraviesa el municipio.
Está delimitado por la Sierra del Puerto al norte (que hace de límite con el término albaceteño de Hellín), el río Alhárabe y el río Segura por el oeste (que hacen de límite con Moratalla), Cehegín por el sur (desde donde llega el río Argos, que atraviesa el municipio y bordea el núcleo de Calasparra), y Cieza por el este, además de una pequeña porción del término de Mula con el que limita en el sureste."
