This vessel dates from after his period as prince and it is not known for certain whether it was crafted during the last years of his reign or during that of his son Ferdinand VII.

The painted decoration above the waterline has a political meaning as it includes coats of arms and emblems of kingdoms and Spanish cities together with the coats of arms of the military orders on the seat back.

Patrimonio Nacional preserves a watercolor displaying some of the motifs used to decorate this barge.
