"El Ayuntamiento ha celebrado la primera edicio´n del Di´a del Amor y la Amistad con un homenaje a cuatro matrimonios del municipio que llevan ma´s de cincuenta an~os juntos. El acto, denominado “A´rboles de Amor”, se ha celebrado en la plaza de Andaluci´a, en la barriada de Las Protegidas.
Cuatro a´rboles de la plaza de Andaluci´a lucira´n a partir de hoy unas placas en reconocimiento a las parejas formadas por Jose´ Garci´a y Mari´a Navas, con 70 an~os de matrimonio; Antonio Cereto y Ana Mari´a Cerezo, 59 an~os; Manuel Garci´a y Mari´a del Pilar Navas, 58 an~os; y Manuel Reyes y Ana Cabello, 57 an~os casados.
El acto ha contado con la proyeccio´n de un vi´deo en el que los cuatro matrimonios han relatado sus vivencias y experiencias en pareja y se han podido ver ima´genes personales de todos ellos. Adema´s, el alcalde y la concejala de Mayores han hecho entrega a las cuatro parejas de un bonsa´i en recuerdo de este di´a
“Quiero felicitaros en nombre de vuestro Ayuntamiento por llevar toda una vida de convivencia juntos, cargada de buenos momentos y probablemente de alguna que otra dificultad felizmente superada. Sois todo un ejemplo de amor y amistad, y por eso hoy reconocemos vuestra vida en comu´n”, ha destacado el alcalde, Jose´ Alberto Armijo.
Por su parte la concejala de Mayores, Elena Ga´lvez, ha ratificado el compromiso municipal de atencio´n a los mayores de Nerja y Maro, agradecie´ndoles su implicacio´n y participacio´n activa en todos los eventos organizados por el Consistorio.
En el acto han participado adema´s la alcaldesa peda´nea de la Barriada de las Protegidas, Eva Garci´a, la presidenta de la asociacio´n Ventana Abierta, Elia Camino, miembros de la Corporacio´n, familiares y amigos de los homenajeados, y representantes del tejido asociativo del municipio."

"The City Council has celebrated the first edition of the Day of Love and Friendship with a tribute to four couples from the municipality who have been together for more than fifty years. The event, called “Trees of Love”, was held in the Plaza de Andalucía, in the Las Protegidas neighborhood.
Starting today, four trees in the Plaza de Andalucía will display plaques in recognition of the couples formed by José García and María Navas, who have been married for 70 years; Antonio Cereto and Ana María Cerezo, 59 years old; Manuel García and María del Pilar Navas, 58 years old; and Manuel Reyes and Ana Cabello, married 57 years.
The event included the projection of a video in which the four couples recounted their experiences as a couple and personal images of all of them were shown. In addition, the mayor and the Councilor for the Elderly have presented the four couples with a bonsai in memory of this day.
“I want to congratulate you on behalf of your City Council for having a lifetime of coexistence together, full of good moments and probably some difficulties that have been happily overcome. You are an example of love and friendship, and that is why today we recognize your life together,” highlighted the mayor, José Alberto Armijo.
For her part, the Councilor for Seniors, Elena Gálvez, has ratified the municipal commitment to care for the elderly of Nerja and Maro, thanking them for their involvement and active participation in all the events organized by the City Council.
Also participating in the event were the municipal mayor of the Barriada de las Protegidas, Eva García, the president of the Ventana Abierta association, Elia Camino, members of the Corporation, family and friends of the honorees, and representatives of the municipality's associative fabric. "
