"Masalavés (oficialmente y en valenciano Massalavés) es un municipio español perteneciente a la provincia de Valencia y la comarca de la Ribera Alta, en la Comunidad Valenciana.

El origen de la población es posiblemente árabe, según se deduce de su mismo nombre, y, según el Libro del Reparto, en el momento de la conquista era una alquería que fue donada por el rey Jaime I a Pedro del Milá en 1247, quien fundó la baronía integrada por dicha población y los lugares de Rosaleny, Prada y Paranxet, actualmente despoblados."
