Op deze plek kwamen in de kleine scheepjes uit de omgeving de stad binnen en kon het graan worden gelost.

Eeuwenlang klonk deze kreet langs de grachten van Froonacker en Zilverstraat in Franeker.
Het was het sein voor de korendragers en de korenmeters, dat er werk aan de winkel was.
Sinds de 15e eeuw had Franeker al een gilde van gezworen zakkendragers.
Door de toenemende bloei van de handel in de stad werd in de 17e eeuw een nieuw zakkendragers huisje gebouwd. Dat is het huisje dat er nu nog steeds staat.
De letters T.A.K op de gevel staan voor Tol Accijns en Korenmeten.

"Tolheffing vindt al eeuwen plaats en was tot de 17e eeuw met name van belang op rivieren, waar het meeste vervoer over ging. Riviertollen zijn reeds bekend vanaf de 11e tot en met de 13e eeuw in plaatsen als Dordrecht, Lobith, Schoonhoven en Vlaardingen. Tol werd geheven door de landheren binnen wiens gebied de betreffende rivier zich bevond. De graven van Holland en Gelre gebruikten de riviertollen tweeledig; om hun hofhouding en oorlogen mede te bekostigen en om de handel binnen eigen gebied te bevorderen.
Vanaf de 17e eeuw begon de handel over land te groeien en werden betere wegen aangelegd, die werden bekostigd met wegtollen."

"Het korendragershuisje of zakkendragershuisje is een monumentaal pand in Franeker in de provincie Friesland.
Beschrijving
Het huisje voor korendragers en zakkendragers werd in 1634 gebouwd. Het pand met maniëristische elementen heeft een zadeldak en een boven de gracht overgekraagde zijgevel. De halsgevel is voorzien van klauwstukken met voluten. Op de gevel zes muurankers en vijf gevelstenen: een korenmeter die een korenmaat draagt met de inhoud van een schepel, de goudkleurige klok op blauw veld is het oude stadswapen van Franeker, een gevelsteen met de letters TAK (Tol, Accijns, Korenmeten), een gevelsteen met het woord Anno en een gevelsteen met het jaartal 1634. In 1937 waren er nog twee korenmeters in gemeentedienst. Het gebouw werd in 1924 en in 1975 gerestaureerd."
