IN 1840. FROM 1909 TO 1958 IT WAS
HUDDERSFIELD COLLEGE,
A BOYS' GRAMMAR SCHOOL AND IN
1975 BECAME AN ANNEXE OF
HUDDERSFIELD TECHNICAL
COLLEGE.

A. R. Pritchett, the architect based his design on St. Peter's School in York which he had previously designed. In this case it had a crenellated central hall elevated above the rest of the building in the style of a fortified "castle keep".
The building is in the Highfields area of Huddersfield and the new apartments are called Highfield Apartments.
