"Take it Easy" by The Eagles

Many of us can sing every word of this song without even thinking. Try it.

OK, now think just about the opening lyrics "Well I'm standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona, such a fine sight to see; It's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed Ford slowin' down to take a look at me." The imagery of this line is what you see represented here in this park along Route 66 as you passes through Winslow. Let's break it down:

In the first picture, you can see a guy standing and in the background a girl in a flat bed truck. In the middle you can see that he's actually standing on a street corner. In the last picture you can see the name of the town is Winslow. Also in this last picture you can see a small tribute to the group in the form of an eagle sitting on the window ledge. All in all a pretty cool tribute to the song and the band.

If you're driving Route 66 east or west then it's worth a stop as it's less than a block off of either route. The park is sandwiched on the corner of a block between the two one-way strips that are Route 66 flowing through town.
