I cannot find a construction history, or even a oral history of this church. So, I do not know if the tower was originally intended to be a bell tower and they install glass windows instead, or was it constructed as a tower to capture the view.

May have been a lookout tower all along. The church is built on this hill that rises about the surrounding area, and from the tower you can look ove the whole city, and see for miles in each direction.
