Located at Capitol Park in downtown Detroit, Michigan at the site of Michigan's first state capital, this life-size statue of Stevens T. Mason, Michigan's first governor, stands along Griswold St.Mason's ashes are interred beneath the statue which was dedicated in 1908.

Mason holds the distinction of being the youngest governor ever to have served in that capacity in the United States, having become governor of Michigan in 1835 at the age of 24.
