The Two Prong Access Trailhead of the Bearwaller Gap Trail is more of an intermediate access to the trail. The southern access is the Overlook Trailhead and the northern access is the Defeated Creek Trailhead. This access is about a 0.5 mile hike to the Two Prong remote backcountry campsite. That free campsite is not able to be reserved and is first come first served.

The Bearwaller Gap trail is about 5.7 miles from end point to end point. It has a large change in elevation as one traverses the area around Center Hill Lake.
