La población de Villas Viejas está despoblada, pero la iglesia es destino de una romería anual.
"El vicepresidente primero del Gobierno de Castilla-La Mancha, José Luis Martínez Guijarro, ha mostrado su apoyo a la declaración de la Romería de la Virgen de la Encarnación, en El Hito (Cuenca), como Fiesta de Interés Turístico Regional, después de que el Ayuntamiento de la localidad haya iniciado el expediente para tal fin.
Martínez Guijarro, que ha asistido hoy a la llegada de la imagen de la patrona a Villas Viejas y la subida al cerro donde los fieles cantan la salve antes de volver a bajar hasta la ermita junto al alcalde de la localidad, Raúl López, ha destacado que “espero que podamos culminarlo lo antes posible”.

"The first vice president of the Government of Castilla-La Mancha, José Luis Martínez Guijarro, has shown his support for the declaration of the Pilgrimage of the Virgin of La Encarnación, in El Hito (Cuenca), as a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest, after that the local City Council has initiated the file for this purpose.
Martínez Guijarro, who today attended the arrival of the image of the patron saint to Villas Viejas and the climb to the hill where the faithful sing the salve before going back down to the hermitage together with the mayor of the town, Raúl López, highlighted that “I hope we can finish it as soon as possible.”
