The parish of Monzie lies just to the north-east of Crieff in Perthshire on the southern edge of the Highlands of Scotland. The small hamlet of Monzie contains a church which was built in 1830-31 on the site of a predecessor and has a graveyard predominately to the west and east of the building.
The graves here date mostly from the 19th century, with many dating from earlier including the 17th and 18th. The largest area covers the grass slope between the road and church, with another section to the east behind the church. The white-harled building is no longer in use having recently been closed.
The featured gravestone lies on the sloping ground to the west and reads as follows;
