Brant Point Light is the 10th lighthouse built at this location, all previously lighthoused were detroyed. The first lighthouse was built in 1746. The current lighthouse was first lit in 1901.
A 96' long, wooden, walkway leads to the entrance of a white, 26' high wood tower with a black lantern. The lantern has a red light with a 5th order Fresnel lens. The light was automated in 1965 and has a period of 4 seconds. It's 26' above mean sea level and has a range of 10 nautical miles. Brant Point Light is equipped with a fog horn that sounds every 10 seconds when in use.
Brant Point Light Station was listed to the National Register of Historic Places on October 28, 1987.
