This sign is located along Benham Interpretive Trail west of parking lot.

Marker Text: The first recorded visit of white men to the Benham Falls area was by Nathaniel J. Wyeth in December of 1834. Some historians say that he was on a trapping expedition while others say he was looking for workers who left one of his construction camps on the Columbia River.
