This sign is located at the end of the Benham Interpretive Trail west of parking lot.
Marker Name: Railroad Loading Docks
Marker Text: This is the site of an old railroad loading dock. In 1939 logs were floated down the Deschutes River, gathered at the pilings in the river, loaded aboard trains and hauled to the mill in Bend as part of the Wickiup Reservoir clearing project.
