Elmelund Skov er den største nye skov Danmark i 100 år og 600.000 træer blev plantet i 2014. Den er med til at beskytte drikkevandsreserverne i undergrunden. Samtidig skal skoven give borgerne i Odense-området flere og bedre naturoplevelser.

Ved p-pladserne er der opsat informationsstandere omkring flora og fauna i området.
Her kan man blandt læse at der er gravet 15 nye vandhuller og etableret stendiger for at tiltrække flere krybdyr og insekter.
Vandsalamanderen (Triturus cristatus) er et eksemel på en art som er fredet og som kan ses i området.





Elmelund Forest is the largest new forest in Denmark in 100 years and 600,000 trees were planted in 2014. It helps protect the underground drinking water reserves. At the same time, the forest will give citizens in the Odense area more and better nature experiences.

Information stands have been set up at the parking lots about the flora and fauna in the area.
Here you can read, among other things, that 15 new waterholes have been dug and dikes established to attract more reptiles and insects.
The Northern crested newt (Triturus cristatus) is an example of a species that is protected and can be seen in the area.
