"The Renfe Series 350 is a series made up of 4 units that arrived in Spain in 1950 along with the Talgo II trailers, the only trains that were towed by this series of locomotives. They were built in the American workshops of American Car and Foundry (A.C.F.) under the supervision of Spanish engineers from Talgo.

To talk about this series is to talk about Talgo II, since they were always an inseparable group. The routes of these groups began with routes between Madrid and Hendaye and ended with a loss 22 years later, in 1972, making the routes between Madrid and Palencia.

350-003 (3-T) Virgin of Begoña
350-004 (4-T) Virgin of Montserrat

Starting in 1972, the 1T locomotive was cannibalized for spare parts. The other three were modified so that they could work in tandem with multiple controls. To do this, the rear part was rebuilt, and a Scharfenberg hitch was installed at both ends. The three rebuilt locomotives were re-registered in Series 350-002 to 004 (ex 2T to 4T). The small double unit and the reserve locomotive were used to tow the TALGO III between Miranda de Ebro and Bilbao until 1976, the year in which unit 004 suffered an accident that destroyed part of its front. Unit 002 (in reserve) did not replace 004 after the accident, since Renfe decided to permanently remove them from service despite having said reserve unit. Of the four locomotives of the 350 series, 2T and 3T are partially preserved in the Madrid Railway Museum and in the Catalonia Railway Museum."
