"About a market from the beginning of the 20th century
In Lugo, there is a difference between the Plaza de Abastos and the Quiroga Ballesteros Market. The latter was rebuilt in 1942 on a previous building that was demolished and was originally from 1906. The plaza itself came into operation in 1950.
This market has around 32 permanent stalls and sells products such as flowers, meat, fish, fruit, sausages and cheeses, bread and pastries… It also has catering establishments.
At Quiroga Ballesteros, special markets are organised weekly, such as the local produce market (every Tuesday) or the special market on Saturdays."
