"It is not possible to see Madrid from here but this was the place chosen by local women to watch their husbands as they set out for the capital.

Many were wafer sellers and they went to festivals in Madrid and all over Spain crying their wares. This explains why there is a monument dedicated to a wafer seller in the village."
