This outdoor altar is located near the St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church in Port Dover, Ontario. The cobblestone structure features a statue of the Virgin Mary. It was blessed by Pope John Paull II on August 22nd, 1999. The altar was placed by the Knight's of Columbus Dollier and Galinee Council #8149.
The Virgin Mary statue and Our Lady of Lourdes story is based on a 1858 visions by Saint Bernadette Soubirous who was told by the Virgin Mary to dig in a grotto, creating a healing spring.
