Op het fraaie landgoed Schothorst staat "Het Groene Huis". In en om Het Groene Huis zijn er allerlei activiteiten over natuur en duurzaamheid. Het is een kennis- en bezoekerscentrum voor Amersfoorters (eigenlijk voor iedereen) en organisaties met een groen hart. Je kunt hier deel te nemen aan diverse evenementen, cursussen, lezingen en andere (kinder-)activiteiten die zij en het team van Het Groene Huis hier organiseren. Ook scholen kunnen bij Het Groene Huis terecht voor Natuur- en Duurzaamheidseducatie. Het Groene Huis is onderdeel van de gemeente Amersfoort en is er voor de stad. Binnen een ontvangstruimte en diverse lokalen met vitrinekasten met diverse opgezette vogels, zoals een specht, een uil, ekster en diverse andere kleine vogels.
The beautiful Schothorst estate is home to 'Het Groene Huis' (The Green House). In and around Het Groene Huis, there are all kinds of activities related to nature and sustainability. It is a knowledge and visitor centre for residents of Amersfoort (actually for everyone) and organisations with a green heart. Here, you can participate in various events, courses, lectures and other (children's) activities organised by them and the team at Het Groene Huis. Schools can also visit Het Groene Huis for nature and sustainability education. Het Groene Huis is part of the municipality of Amersfoort and is there for the city.
In a reception area and various rooms, there are display cabinets containing various stuffed birds, such as a woodpecker, an owl, a magpie and various other small birds.

Visitors should visit the Nature Center and post a photo of themselves (or GPS unit) either inside or outside of the nature center visited. Logs without photos WILL be allowed if a lenghty description of one's visit and a mention of what they learned is included.
