The waterfall is located about 4 kilometers to the north of the village of Sutovo which lends its name to the waterfall as well as the creek and valley in which it is located. The waterfall is within the borders of the Krivanska Mala Fatra National Park and is only accessible on foot, most conveniently by following the blue-marked trail form the village of Sutovo (bus, train, parking). The geology of the area comprises predominantly autometamorphosed granitic and grandioritic rocks of the Tatric crystalline basement.
