This park is made up of approximately 126 acres of Florida wildlife. The park's nature trail offers an enjoyable view of the wildlife within the park. The park-goers that embark on the nature trial quickly realize what makes Al Lopez Park special. If it isn't the land that sparks your interest, it will be the ponds. There are two ponds that fall within the boundaries of the park. The Northern pond offers fishing, and some have said that the fishing is what sets Al Lopez Park aside from other parks.
Al Lopez Park is currently one of six parks within the city that offers shelter rentals. This basically means that individuals are able to rent out shelters in advance in order to host a gathering. If you are interested in finding out more information about other shelters within the City of Tampa, please call the Parks and Recreation Main Office at 813.274-8615.
