This museum is located in the Deming Armory, built in 1915-16.
In response to the Mexican Revolution and fear of invasion and guerrilla raids across the nearby border.
The construction was also a response to the growing war in Europe.
The structure is now on both the State and National Registers.
The large museum with more than 22,000 square feet contains an extensive doll collection, Mimbres Pottery, Toys, Rocks Gems and Minerals.
A display of Fort Cummings and Camp Cody military memorabilia, and many other historical artifacts from the Southwest.
We have family articles in this Museum as well.
Our parents and grandparents were a part of this community.
We had a blast coming back for our 30 year reunion and going to all the places we use to visit often.
I really enjoy Waymarking these type things if for nothing else the History.
Have fun be safe and
