From 1969 to 1991, this school was used as a garage, warehouse and maintenance facility until it caught fire in 1991. The fire destroyed the roof and severely damaged the masonry. From 1993 to 1996 much restoration work was done. There's now a museum, visitors center, meeting areas, a 1915-style classroom and a tiered 135 seat auditorium.
Today the school is open to the public for tours. There are events scheduled throughout the year in the auditorium. Visitors are invited to visit the school any weekday (except Monday) between 9:00am and 5:00pm.
